The “Barn”
When we moved into our new house, we quickly realized we needed a sheltered space to store our camper and protect it from the elements when not in use. At the same time, I wanted a dedicated area where I could work on projects, even though woodworking hadn’t yet become my primary focus. After some research, I found plans for a camper garage and decided to take on the challenge of building it myself.

With the help of some friends, I began the building process—which quickly turned into a learning experience. From figuring out what materials were needed, to determining quantities and sourcing suppliers, every step was a new challenge and an opportunity to grow.
Let the learning begin.
As we approached the final stages of the project, we noticed two large openings that needed doors. This became an opportunity to focus on the finer details. Prefabricated garage doors were not only expensive but also didn’t match the look we envisioned. So, I took on the challenge of designing and building two sets of barn doors myself.
Getting close to the end.
After months of working nights and weekends, we finally completed the building. It has proven to be a perfect spot for storing our camper, but even more importantly, it has become a space where I can grow and refine my woodworking skills.
